Title: RAID1 (mirror)
Post by: dserdu on April 13, 2009, 06:56:23 AM
Have any experiments been done in which the the backup hard disk is utilized as a RAID1 mirrored drive?  Assuming that it works, what disadvantages would such an arrangement have compared to the typical backup drive arrangement in Warrior systems?  Thanks...

We had used the backup disk as RAID1 before, but found that RAID1 offered some disadvantages to our clients so we just setup 2 independent disks with the same Windows and programs installed.
RAID1 give you the ability to mirror the data in real time, but if when Windows files are corrupted, they corrupted in both hard drives. So you can not boot up to Windows while you are 300 miles away from the office to have access to Windows installation CD or Images of the hard drives.
