log stop

We have a Toshiba Satellite A70 that will log normally, for about 3000'.  It then draws straight lines on all curves, until the log is stopped.  Tool power is cycled and then logging is resumed, starting a new file, logging to surface.  This is the only machine that we are having trouble with.  Any ideas?
